I haven't posted a picture of my M38 (1941 mfgr date) online for a long time..... she's a great old girl...... one of these days I should get an m96 to keep her company....:D

It's been a long time since I've had her out to the range..... I guess I should take her along the next time out....:D :D :D

Nice looking rifle Roy. Do you shoot her much? I am down to only one Swede right now. A 1903 m96/38 that my mother bought for me! I should probably take some pictures?

Dog I've only had her to the range a couple of times....:o

Personally, I'm not wild about the sights on this rifle..... I wish I could put my finger on it, but I've never really liked the sights......

I really like the lines of her though..... but I have a soft spot for straight wrist stocks..........:D

I once owned an M38 that shot to high at the 100. I had to aim at knee level in order to hit the target. A tall front sight blade from Samco took care of the problem. Wish I still had her. :icon_sad:

Can ayone tell me about the M38 Swedes that SAMCO advertises? I ordered one 5 weeks ago. Don't know where I'm at with the order, they answer all inquiries with a question instead of looking up their records.

But once they said the rifles were in stock but considered back ordered because they had to find the rifles and put the stocks on.

I hope it shoots, it's sort of an adventure just to buy it.

Any info appreciated....

I can't help you with Samco. Mine came from a local gunshop. It sounds like you are in for an adventure!

Let us know!!

I really do not care for most Mauser sights. It is not a Swede thing, it is more like a Mauser thing more than anything. Having said that, I dig the Swedes!

Good luck on the SAMCO thing. If what you are saying is correct, 5 weeks is an excessive amount of time...

I put a set of Mo-Jo's double diopter on one of my M96's . It helped my shooting.

Richard, if you don't have any luck with SAMCO, I've got a spare Husqvarna M39 that I put on consignment in a local shop. Shoot me a private message if SAMCO strikes out.
