I am down in Wash. visiting family, and one of my brothers took me shooting yesterday. We took a Enfield No1 Mk111, a MN 91/30 with a scope, and a Turk Mauser with a scope. The range had a steel plate 18" square at 200 yards, and hit it with regularity with the 2 scoped rifles, and even tagged it with the Enfield a few times too! Lots of fun!

About the best that I can do with iron sights is 100yds and even then, I've got to have a bit of luck and the wind in my favor (tossing rounds AT the target).

perhaps this spring i will get to toss some lead around. have had the itch for a while now to do some shooting. my scoped centerfires are both down due to broken bolt handels, 308 and turdsniper. add to them the 308 i am building to give to my brother and i got three bolts that need handels welded onto...bugger. anyhow come spring its going to be kind of fun breaking in this new 308 and its load development. i have a bunch of 8mm, am hoping a new friend stops in so i have someone to shoot it with. hes into the newer millitary arms, ar, ak and so on. maybe i will get to shoot his ar that would be fun.
on a side note, i finaly got another box of 155gr a-max bullets only to find they are not the same as the original box i had and used up. the new ones have a much smaller plastic tip...i can only hope they shoot as well as the first box, those would literaly print one on top of another.
now that i have a cammera i will post pics when the time comes.

Good Lord........you're rough on your gear! How in the heck do you keep doing that to your rifles? Do they do double duty as pool cues in a bar fight?

no the "gunsmith" i had weld them on is out of practice, half blind, deaf and so on...in short i need my own welding set up.
hes been using the rod from brownells the 3%nikle welding rod, torch welding them on. been having a big problem with penetration, followed by the alloy becoming very brittle. next time around they are going to be arc welded, i know a guy who has a tig (i think) so maybe i could run over there someday. either way this is getting OLD!

Well, I won't go that far.....while in college, I was "Semi-Pro" in the art. However, thank goodness I outgrew that. I've not been "drunk" since college, but I do have an occassional beer or glass of wine, etc.
I think I've probably drunk maybe 3-4 beers in the past year or so and perhaps two glasses of wine. I don't think I've had any hard liquor in at least 2-3 years, but when I do.........I just love have a Long Island Iced Tea.....mmmm those things are good. Only one guess as to my favorite beer.
So, it's not repulsive to me, just that I think I'm getting too old to be that stupid again.
