I just watched a special on the Discovery Channel where this new weapon was discussed. There is a thread in this area about the round it shoots (6.8mm), so you may want to check it out too.

Essentially this could be the replacement for the M16/M4. The new round has much better stopping power, but is still very accurate. A couple of nice things about this rifle:
You can actually just buy an upper receiver and it's supposed to mate up with the lower of an M16/M4.
The M468 is factory threaded for a suppressor, which makes it ideal for duty in places like Baghdad.
Lastly, field assembly is virtually identical and the location of the fire selector and all other controls are identical (because of using the same lower receiver), so ease of transition for our troops.
If I can spot the special and when it's being broadcast again, I'll post it.
