The Golden Boy .22's are really pretty. We had one in the gun shop and it looked almost too nice to shoot.I hear they are very accurate.Remington would probably be a good place to start in ammunition choices.

I shot a reproduction Golden Boy once, but I think it was a .45 caliber.

We always like them new toys....you might go to wally world and buy some sample boxes of different ammo and try them.

With the flash it doesn't show the true color of the action and it is a bright brass color.

get the federal at wallyworld, used to come 550 rds per box. good guality shell for a decent price.
i once bought some winchester bargan shells with a huge hollow point...they leaded very badly in the guns i used them in. the only time i have had remington shells function properly was in bolt actions(note i have not shot ever 22s before) when fired through a semi auto remington just didnt work. with all of my exp federal worked the best and cost the least.

going to be fun forsure!
the weather is moderating here, looking like spring just need to lose the truck in the driveway to make it complete. this year after my back problems get sorted out i am looking forward to tossing a bunch of lead around. have to get back to basics, small gun, cheap ammo, LOTS of ammo, lots of targets to pop, and lots of fun. all too often we get into the big guns and we forget what was fun about shootin to start with. the big guns hang on the wall and look cool more than getting shot.
anyone try those target spinners? where do the bullets go after hitting the iron and how much engergy do they seem to have after the hit? while they look fun i just keep thinking the bullet could go flying off into who knows where.
