Picked up a Ruger Blackhawk stainless with a 7 1/2" barrel a couple weeks ago. It is 45 LC. The fella threw in 500 cast bullets for reloading. I think he said they were 325 grain! Must be for Mastadons or something! It has also been modified so that when the loading gate is open, the cylinder will spin either way. Haven't shot it yet. Sure glad I kept those reloading dies.:D

A great pistol in an equally great caliber.I don't understand the modification.Why?

I can only guess that he did it so he could load it faster, being that it freewheels now, instead of ratcheting.
