Of course not.........but it gives them the warm fuzzies to pass laws. The fact of the matter is that there has NEVER been a law written that will prevent ANY crime. All a law can do is provide a means to deal with someone AFTER the crime has been committed.

Just like a LEO can't prevent a crime unless he just happens to be jonney on the spot.

Bottom line on this one is the fools who were worried about 'offending' the dude and didn't send him straight to the mental ward (with a police escort) are the ones to blame.... not the firearm dealer.
