Thank you, I appreciate the kind response. I do not collect P.38's per se, but a WWII martial collection does need examples to kind of round out the collection. I only wanted an example of the three mfgs., so searched for real nice ones.

Here's the cyq (Spreewerk) example, not quite as nice as the ac and byf, but adequate for now. Still need to acquire a holster and correct reserve magazine to go with it.

....now that you mentioned it(and I am NO guru on P38's)...I've noticed the same, and heard others make similar comments about the cyq Spreewerks....but I'd still be proud and happy to have one...:) ...I broke my fun fund to get the one I have.. ....in fact-I'm gonna have to do something now....the left grip on mine is a cyq with the 5 broken lines, and the right is ac with 6.....and every once in a while it BUGS me...:xxrotflmao: :grinning-thumbsup:

Nice p38's Francis! I only had one p38 that I found at a pawnshop. It was well worn out but had beacoup waffenampts stamped all over her. Bluing was pretty much gone. Nice bakelite grips too. I shot her once and sold her the same day! Easy come, easy go I guess. Pistols just are not my thing. Probably because I have not bumped into the right one yet. Still holding out for a Norwegian .45 or shooter grade Radom.

Anyone know where one might find one? :devil-smiley-1:
