How about a Model 1895 carbine? Almost the best I can do.lol That would be the No. 1, issued to the troops in the Netherlands.

The newest one was built in 1930, and was known as the Model 1895 No. 5 Carbine A5. This would put it a "few generations". A couple "generations", assuming ten years to the generation would make it a model 1917, but the gun pictured doesn't look like it has a 31" barrel. That is my best guess.LOL

I apologize.......... the web site where I picked the rifle up from identified it as a model 1921.......... looks like they mis-identified it........ here it is from another web site id'ed just as you said!!

Egg on my face............. sorry...............:dontknow:  :o

Dutch M.95 No. 5 Mannlicher carbine. This type of carbine was adopted in 1938 and it was issued to the motorized artillery regiments and the anti-aircraft artillery brigade. These carbines were basically cut down M.1895 rifles. The rifle sight was replaced with the carbine sight. The buttstock sling swivel was moved rearward. The hole from the buttstock old sling swivel was filled with wood.
