How about a Remington model 31A? Think that was the predessor to the model 870.

Rusty WINs AGAIN!

I don't know about the A designation? But I have a 31s in my gun safe..... I was told by my father that the 's' stood for the 'skeet' model. Mine has a matte rib whereas this one appears to have none.... so 31a maybe exactly correct........

It was the 'father' to the 870! Well done...... actually neither the Model 31 or the 870's fit me very well....... I prefer the fit of a Mossberg........:grinning-thumbsup:

You can hold the check and donate it to the charity of your choice. Doubt I'll be around in 2044, although I might be. That would make me 97. I do enjoy the challenge of the contest. Makes one really think. I think the model with the S was for a trap designation, but you could probably measure the choke to make sure whether it is skeet or trap. Thanks.

It's a full choke and the 'trap' designation would make more sense since my Grandpa was an avid trap shooter..... he was an incredible shot with this old gun........ but a rifle was where he really shined.....
