There is a bill that passed the Indiana House of Reps that needs a hearing in the state Senate. The bill will allow for a LIFETIME carry license. The State Police and the Gov are behind this. There is one Senator that is being a stick in the mud. He needs a little nudging.

If you would call Sen. Long's office Monday and politely request that he give HB 1176 a hearing. Again the number is 1-800-382-9467, ask the operator to put you into his office. I don't care what state you live in just call him. This bill needs to get a hearing in the senate in the next few days.

This bill was pushed through the state house by a rep. He did it on his own! This would be the first lifetime carry permit in the nation.

Good Luck with that, but I'm sure they could care less what someone from Tennessee thinks about it. If you have any fellow Hoosiers here, then they should of course take the time to call or email him.

I will get right on that. And also tell some co-workers, also CCW people, to get to it too.
I won't hold my breath on it getting through all the way, but it would be nice.:blob1: :usa2:

I wish my state would do that too. Too bad I live where I do. :(

Congrats ! That is a major victory and hopefully more will follow suit. Here in Nebraska we just got CC (which takes effect at the first of 2007) and have yet to see how it is all going to play out.

Metaldoc,

I know of a gentleman down near Lincoln that will be one of the Certified Instructors. He works for the Highway Patrol as their forensic guy and does gunsmithing on the side. He's a great guy and a very reasonably priced smithy. He has his own range on his property and is making plans to do his training sessions there..... once the details of the training are worked out that is......... ;)

I hope more will follow suit also. It would be great for us gun guys, law abiding citizens who would feel more secure, and the entire country in general.
Then what I would really want to see would be that if your state issued CCW license was good throughout all 50 states.
To be able to travel, packing, would be a nice thing. Especially if traveling alone or on motorcycle.
