I wanted to teach my son about long range shooting. After some discussions with Coorslightguy I decided to take his advice and buy a Swiss K-31 for accuracy and affordability.

I was wondering if anyone had a source for reasonably priced ammunication? The dealer I bought it from wanted $1 per round. I also wanted to buy additional magazines ($55 from local dealer-wow!) and a sling. Does any one have a realible source for those?

The mechanics are in excellent shape, but the barrel was a little dinged up. It was put into service in 1939 and belonged to a Mr. hostetler of Juergen Switzerland.

Welcome aboard Ryykk! AIM has some reasonable prices. Throw in a few $$$ for shipping & it's a done deal (you'll have to fax them a copy of your DL). Gunshows sometimes have Swiss ammo, but the price is, well...higher?

k31 magazines are just expensive, period. I've never seen a "good deal" on them. And I don't know about recent pricing on k31 slings.

Dan's ammo www.dansammo.com used to have 480 rounds for $140-some-odd bucks. Century Arms did as well. Dan's offer included 10 chargers, which make having a spare magazine unnecessary. While the Schmidt Rubin magazine is detachable, with charger loading there is no real reason to remove it except for cleaning. Chargers can be found a number of places, I've extras if you can't find them.

That's a good deal on the 480 rounds at dansammo. Another decent place for ammo is from MidwayUSA.

I like ordering from Century Arms Inc. The standard shipping cost of $12.50 is pretty nice when you order several cases of ammo. Sometimes the shipping costs with other companies can kill you, even though their prices may be a small bit cheaper.

I've always ordered mine from AIM but it looks like Century has a better deal right now. I usually bundle orders of several different calibers and it all depends on who has everything I'm wanting..... usually cuts down shipping costs to order alot at once.:D
