ok guys in the know. tell me where to look for very accurate ammo for my 308 and is it best found online or in a cozy old gun shop off the beaten path under the glass case with the tape on the crack. I have just wasted alot of time cruising the web looking. But sometimes the thrill is in the chase and not the catch isnt it.

BarryB, Midway is a great source for just about anything gun-related. As for "very accurate" 308 ammo, the best I have found off the shelf is Federal Gold Match. Of course every rifle is different, but that stuff groups like crazy out of my 308 Savage bolt rifle.

If you want decent affordable ammo, the best I have found is the Protugese surplus 308, but I'm not sure if anyone has any left. AIM Surplus (www.aimsurplus.com) has some South African, but I haven't heard any reports on it yet.
