Lately I've had the itch to fish. Caught this 8lb. cat on a live bream in a small pond just down the road this passed weekend. Put up a good fight too. I was using an old Penn Peerless no 9 reel so I guess that sort of counts as fishing with C&R tackle.:D

Ole Mr. whiskers finally come in peacefull and surrendered. I had a couple more about a couple of pounds each to go with him. I filleted them and cut the meat into strips about 1" X 3" and dredged them in cornmeal, deep fried with some hushpuppies, fries, coleslaw and a big old sweet onion on the side. Dipped in tarter sauce with a dash of buttermilk. One of them cheap Walmart Key Lime pies for desert. Bellied up on the couch after that and had one of them outer body expiences.:D
Mario, something strange happening in my middle years. My bellies getting bigger and my back end is shrinking. I had to start wearing gallasters on my undershorts just to keep them up.:xxrotflmao:

.....ah yes......:headbanger: ...I am familiar with that symptom......why jsut the other day my wife made some sarcastic comment about how I used to have a nice butt and what happened to it-I bit my tongue because I had a good comeback for her... :BangHead: ...'tis a common affliction that attacks men as they grow older and wiser;) :grinning-thumbsup: :xxrotflmao:

My family has been doing more fishing lately than we have in a long time. Here's a pic from yesterday morning where my wife and son both hooked in to a couple of Spots at the same time. We been having a good time.:D

Nice - sometimes a good day fishin' just can't be beat. The boy & I went fishing about 5 or 6 weeks ago. First time we've gone together since he was a toddler (that was surf fishing in Florida).
Anyway we had a good time. After we found a nice secluded spot to fish we saw a snake in the water heading towards us. No big deal, except that he was coming straight at us! He came out of the water, up a small pile of rocks & got about 4 feet from me - at that point I let out a loud, hysterical --- HELP (according to the boy) while running away as fast as I could. As I recall I jumped back a foot or so just to be on the safe side.
Turns out to be a corn snake - but we both got a good bit of excitement on that one!!
Thanks for posting pictures!

I got a snake story myself DOG, before my wife and me got married we were fishing at the county lake close to where we live. We were sitting on the dam right down on the water and noticed a little water snake swimming up the bank towards us. We both just kind of watched it not saying anything and it went right under our poles. Just out of a gut reaction I jumped up and slapped it across the back with my pole and it hung on to it as I came up with it. The only thing I saw then as I turned around was the bottom of my wife's tenny shoes kicking up gravel as she tore out up the bank with her siren on. My right shoulder was black and blue from the ride home as she beat me on it constantly until we got home. I'll never forget that as long as I live.:xxrotflmao: Unfortunately she wont eitheir.
Stan, your right. We were fishing that steep bank on the left coming from the Long Bridge going towards the trestle. We Bass fished all the way down passed Princes bridge and then threw out a few catfish jugs and sit there watching them while eating our lunch.
