View Full Version : 1843 Revolver
I found this gun and I would like to know more about it and its it worth anything?. I have photos but im not sure how to post them. The Gun says this on it.
Engaged 16th May 1843. It has a wooden handle and its a black powder gun. On the top it says Armisanpaolo-Brescia. Does this help. Please respond.

Based on nothing more than a very quick Google search, that would seem to be a modern Italian reproduction, which still could be quite valuable. It would depend on condition and whether or not you had all the accessories and/or the presentation case that probably came with it.
I'm the least knowledgeable person around here, so you should definitely wait to hear more from some of the others who frequent our forum.

Also ran across this:
"The battle between ships of the navies of the Republic of Texas and Mexico. The battle took place in the Gulf of Mexico on May 16th, 1843.
The Naval Engagement Scene, as reproduced on the cylinders of Colt’s 1851 Navy (as the Ranger Model came to be called) and 1860 Army revolvers, is a familiar sight to collectors and historians of Sam Colt’s oeuvre."
So again, I'm guessing that this is an Italian reproduction of Colt's 1851 Navy or 1860 Army revolver.
