I still have 3 rifles that I need to clean up and rework. A Spanish Mauser (.308 cal), A Turkish Mauser and a VZ24 (or something like that). Moved into a new home last May and have not had time to do anything related to rifles this past year. This Spring things are gonna change!!!!!!!!! :grinning-thumbsup:

PS-- Love the place Kids!!!!!! :occasion18:

Another Welcome! You'll love the Spanish m1916 (I have 2 that are still in 7mm mauser.... LOVE EM!) and the vz24, I don't have a turk myself but heck it's a mauser...............:xxrotflmao:

But if ya don't already have one, you really need to get a Swiss K-31...............:D :D ;)

Awesome. I would love to own one of each of those. :D

Also a side note on the Spanish Mauser with the conversion. I remembered reading this somewhere and found it at surplusrifle.com.

Note that the 7.62 NATO cartridge is not the same as .308 Winchester commercial cartridge in terms of pressure ratings. Many shooters report using commercial .308 ammo with no ill effects, however REALLY, the weapons are marked for 7.62 ammo with max pressures of 49,700 psi CUP vs. 52,000 psi CUP.

You might already be aware of this, but I thought I would post it just in case. :grinning-thumbsup:

Thanks Kids!:grinning-thumbsup: Ash, I have heard that information on the Spanish Mqauser also, and have heard from various Gun Friends that they shoot normal .308 ammo in them and have had no trouble what so ever.

I have more guns, but these 3 are the ones that I have had for over a year and have not had the time to re-ferb them. Now that my garage is somewhat clean:rolleyes: I MIGHT be able to work on them. I am thinking on doing a DURA-COAT on the VZ24 due to all the pitting that is on her. But I am not sure on what color to use and money is a little tight right now.:o

WMRoy, I would like to get a Sweed but like I said money is just a little tight right now. If I save up my money from empty beer cans I just might have enough by the end of summer!!:blob1:

BignBald,

Do you have your c&r license???

The debate on the m1916's converted to 7.62 nato has been going on for years..... personally, I have mixed feelings...... somedays I think I should have one of these variations to go with my 2 variations in 7mm..... other days I think why would I want that.... :dontknow: :D

Don't get a Swede..... too pricey..... Go Swiss (k-31)!! Still a better price and every bit as nice a rifle..... I prefer them.....:xxrotflmao: :D to the Swedes....:grinning-thumbsup:
