Great rifle. PRobably the most made .22 other than maybe the Ruger 10/22. Not as much aftermarket goodies as the Ruger, but still plenty. Reliable and can shoot just about any ammo. The only thing I don't care for is the tube mag.

agreed, tube mag just doesn't do it for me, very reliable, and very common. A more classic look than the 10/22, but not nearly as customizable.

The 60 works very well as it is without add on crap, been shooting mine for years with no trouble, got to be several thousand rounds by now, probably more. I have never had a Marlin that gave me trouble.

if it were me i would get the ruger. been there done that with the marlin semi auto. might as well try the ruger. you will find you wish you had the clips, fast change and your ready to go again. then theres the whole aftermarket parts issue. if your gun breaks something then you can get an upgraded part with no problem. if you want a better trigger pull no problem.
you will save a little up front but will pay for it for years to come.

If you want a rifle to go and shoot, be accurate and be reliable get your self a marlin 60. You want some thing to buy add ons to and not as accurate as the marlin get a 10/22.
