I think Chairman Mosko had his date wrong. 1909 Argentine Carbine.

No it's not a 1909, If it's not the Argie, it must be a Swede 94 with a replacement stock, where the disk and range tag are missing

Looks like a Spanish Model 95 carbine to me. Originally in 7mm.

That's what I'm thinking Rusty. If I'd have looked closer and taken a bit of time, I'd have seen that it couldn't be an Argie 91, because the Mannlicher box mag is missing.
Other possibles are maybe a Chinese 1907, or a model that Paragyay or Uraguay had, that were also possibly 1907, but I recall them having pistol / scant grip stocks.
The Siberian carbine, and I Think maybe a Turk 1895, were the same way. The Spanish 1892 was stocked like that but also had a Mannlicher box IIRC.
So, the only one left that I can remember being stocked like that would have to be the Spanish 1895, as far as I know, and that aint saying much!

Wonder if I should throw in the word "calvary" just to cover the bases?:D I think the ring for the sling could be construed by some for use by those on horseback, although I don't think officially it was called that.
