The planets must have aligned, from this past weekend SCACA show acquired this Nagant revolver. There are 1895's and there are 1895's....but this one is among the hardest of all to acquire. They are as scarce as feathers on a frog.
In 1928 Charles and Maurice Nagant, sons of Leon, sold rights, machinery and remaining parts for the Model 1895 to Poland. Quantities of the M1895 were produced in Poland under the name Radom Ng30 (Ng meaning Nagant) (30 the year of adoption as the service sidearm). Production continued until adoption of the Radom VIS-35, 9mm semi-auto pistol in 1935. I have read that the number produced was something like 30,000. I believe production ended 1936.
I have collected the VIS-35 and P.35(p.) "Radom" semiautomatic pistol for over 40 years and this is only the second Ng30 that I have ever actually held in my hands.....they are scarce.....and the condition of this one is outstanding.
The one presented here is dated 1932 and bears serial number 5499.

You've done it again, Francis. It amazes me how you can always come up with these treasures...Must be that deep pocketbook??

I would like to comment on this pistol as well. Let me begin by saying that I've known Francis for a fair number of years and that he is a stand up character. In all my dealings with him he has always been fair, honest, loyal, and one hell of a friend. He is a member of SCACA (South Carolina Arms Collectors Association - which I need to join) and he is at every gun show that SCACA has. Occasionally he will display some of his beauties and when he does it is more like a travelling firearms museum. He will always have reference books on hand to back up data as well. He converses well with the masses and has the ability to talk on anybody's level. I have personally seen some of the nicest firearms I have ever seen in my life on his table. His Luger collection is nothing short of a miracle in itself, as is his Mauser rifle collection, and his Radom collection.
I have seen some real beauties in my time that he has shared with me over the years and I can honestly say that he still manages to surprise me.
We (South Carolina Gun Company, LLC) had a booth at the SCACA show in Columbia last weekend. Later in the afternoon Francis came over to our booth to show us his latest acquisition. While he was showing us his new baby I asked him if he needed a tissue - I could've sworn I saw him tearing up on this one. And in all my years of knowing him I've never seen him get emotional about a firearm..
Ladies & Gentlemen, boys and girls, I am here to tell you that the Holy Grail has been spotted - and you are witnessing it here and now on our lil' forum. I too held this one in my hands. Stunning. Beautiful. In a nutshell - WOW!
Incredible. Great find Francis - and thanks for sharing with me, and the guys @ GCF...

Fellas, thank you for the comments, DOG you are to kind, thank you.
Deep pocketbook, sadly not I, more like a watchpocket. Retired now and get by on a monthly Social Security check and monthly stipend from 401K, IRA and we all know what happened to 401K's recently.
A most equitable price between the vendor and I was agreed to. I was honest and up front with him as to what the potential value of the pistol was in the market place. He runs a shop geared to modern firearms, knows that I am into "Radom" firearms, all things Polish and pre 1946 automatics. He set aside the pistol after he acquired it for my refusal. The price was possibly a third of what it would bring in the right venue, auction. Despite what we read on the 'net about gun show vendors, not all are pirates. Most of our SCACA vendors are guys making a living. I cultivate a good relationship with our vendors, they are in an environment to see a lot more firearms than I.
