A year or so ago, I picked up 2 Remington 788's in 6mm (for my 2 girls) out in the Bush. These had been "boat guns", and were pretty thrashed, and needed complete refinishing. I found a couple of Weaver K4 scopes for them, and one of my co-workers made some petrified ivory grip caps for them.

One came out shooting like a champ, but I have been having fits with the other. I finally got it sorted out today; ended up free-floating the barrell, and that cured it. Using 35.2 grains of 4064 behind a Hornady 100 grain soft point. Should make good Caribou/Sheep guns. Pic of sighting targets from yesterday and today. Top and bottom shot at 50 yards, middle shot at 100 yards.

Nice!!! Wish i cold get my girls into huntng, my oldest Charlotte will shoot a rilfe but won't touch a pistol, Toni my youngest is a very good shot with a rifle and a pistol but she only likes shooting bottles.
Charlotte is getting married so i'm getting new son in law, Been trying to figure out witch rifle to give him. He's shooting right handed with his left eye. Gonna have to cut the comb down fo him i guess, I have'nt been able to get him to shoot left handed

Neat looking rifles. Good to see your girls shooting too! My oldest girl is 20 & won't touch a gun. My youngest girl is 13 & will pop a cap with her old man anytime she can.

On the left you see my youngest kid {Anja} & on the right you see her best friend {Kayla} shooting her rifle. Incidentally, when those girls go with me they are on autopilot. They already know how to shoot and take safety very seriously. And they take turns, each girl loading their own magazine and only shooting 5 rounds at their own target. They will sit at their position and they won't quit shooting until the .22 ammo is gone!

Thanks Iquitos! I'm guessing your girls are just a little bit older than my pony-tailed rug rats? :D

Very Cool! My daughter is very sensitive to loud noises and thinks guns are dumb..... but she's only 11 so she may come around.....

Dog, one is 20, and the other is 25. I am waiting for it to warm up a bit, and then get them out with the Rem bolt .22 I have to get them warmed up for the 6mm's.

It's good to see girls doing non-traditional things with their dads. However, when I was a kid I couldn't stand to see my sisters playing soccer in my league, and I couldn't stand it when my dad brought them with us skeet or trap shooting, or even fishing!
I'm a little older, a little wiser, and understand more now than ever before. I don't want my daughters to go without anything, or to do without anything because of any man. They're welcome to do anything with me, anytime!
