View Full Version : K31 trigger
I don't have 2 K31's so I can't compair. do all stock K31's have the same trigger? I know they are 2 stage, but on mine the first stage is fairly long about 3/4", then there is a audible click you can also feel and the trigger stops, at this point I can take my finger off the trigger and it stays right there at the break point. From that point it only takes 2lbs to break.I love it, it's perfect and wondering if all of them operate this way, or might it be an aftermarket job? Thanks toby

Hey toby, if the trigger is not returning forward then something is not right with it. It may need a good cleaning. As issued triggers have that long first stage pull and then it comes to the break point but 2 lbs. is lighter than it should be. I dont have any photos at the moment but I'll try to put one up this evening of the as issued assembly.
Hi LoLo It looks like a stock trigger . When I had the bbl/receiver out of the stock everything looked fine as compaired tto pics I've googled on the web. the rifle was made in 1943 and all matching. When it gets to the break point there is a click almost like a set trigger. I can ease off and it stays there, but if I move it forward(with no effort) I have to start all over again in other words there is the normal resistance felt in the trigger. and then it "sets" again. All it takes is a very gentle squeez and it breaks. toby

Hey toby, you may have already seen this but it's gives a pretty good detail on the K31 trigger. The article is about swapping over and retrofitting an after market trigger assy.

I dont have any of these after market triggers but you should be able to tell from the pictures how everything should fit.
Thanks LoLo. I hadn't seen that one. If I can figure out how to post pics I take some of mine and post. toby
Here it goes, I'm going to try a picture If it doesn't work, I'll try something else.. If it works you will seea straight stock trigger.http://s841.photobucket.com/albums/zz339/dave795/K31%20trigger%20group/

Hey toby, here's some pics to compare by. I think your trigger spring may be bent to give the type of pull that you are describing.
Here's your trigger photo.

Here's one of mine which I looked at several and they are all the same.

And here's a picture of the trigger spring in one of mine out of the receiver and in the relaxed state to compare by.

The trigger looks standard and I dont think anything has been altered on it. Hope this helps.
Thanks LoLo. I think that was done intensionly don't you? is there any harm if left like that or should it be replaced. I sure like the way it operates now. but if it could develope a problem, I'll fix it. Thanks, toby

Yeah, I think it was intentional. I don't know what harm might be done leaving it as is but the standard trigger pull on these is perfect to my liking. A very smooth and light 1st stage pull and the second stage begins by a definate stop. Then maybe 3 pounds or so to trip the sear. I do feel better about the trigger returning each time pressure is released. They have a definate reason for design I'm sure. I'd rather have it stock myself.
I'm going to try and gently bend it back some to see if that does the trick. Thanks again LoLo. toby

Let me know how it comes out toby. That spring balances the whole trigger-ejector mechanism.
