Dad would always take his kids to the range, as we all got older I was the only one who would go with him. In his later days he made sure my son came along. He left me his collection which I know about his long guns but his hand guns we didn't talk much about. I have questions about this model 40 which was his carry weapon, the serial number is 23xxx and it has a factory installed 3" barrel. I know this because the box say's so. I have one brother telling me it's not worth much because dad had it altered. The other and wiser brother say's it's worth more because the factory did the installation of the barrel. Any info and sites that I can look into the history of this neat little pistol would be greatly welcomed. By the way the gun is priceless to me, I just want info so I won't make the same mistake when I hand it down to my son. Thanks
