I'm hoping to catch a show this Sunday...... man it's been a Lonnngggg time since I've taken an afternoon and just poked around looking at old guns....:D

Hope to find a stock for the bubba'ed m1917 that I have...... that would be the 'holy grail' for me right now.....;)

Of course who knows what I'll 'just have to have'..............:xxrotflmao:

Which show? Where at?
I'm going to the St Louis Mo and Evansville Ind shows this weekend.

It's going to be somewhat of a dry spell in these parts the next few weeks, so I don't anticipate hitting any shows for awhile.

Seems like I have to travel quite a ways to shows, hence I don't go to too many. We have two a year here, our sportsman's club does a good job. There is one next week in Lakeview, Or., only about ninety miles from here, which I will go to. Small show, but fun to see everyone, and I usually find some milsurp stuff there.

I would love to go to a show again. The last time I was at a show I knew next-to-nothing about mil-surplus/C&R arms. :tard: :icon_scratch:

I just went to the Crossroads of the West gun show today.

Got a real nice bayonet for my M48 yugo. Non-matching numbers on the scabbard and blade, but no dents, good blueing, not soaked in cosmoline, and a near perfect frog.

It was pretty funny, at the "odds and ends" part of the building where they sell just about anything, some guy dropped an MG34 barrel. I looked at the guy next to me and said, "I think he just bought something."

The douchebags at Wholesale Ammo strike again!
they bought almost the ENTIRE shipment of Wolf 7.62x39 and jacked the prices up from $149.99 to $169.99 per 400 rounds. It used to be $129.99 a few months ago. They also raised on 357 magnum by two dollars a box. Douchebags.

Meanwhile Ammo Brothers is still dealing fairly. A can of romanian 8mm for about $42.99 and a bandolier of turkish for $3.00. They'll have an FFL soon and will be selling guns at the next show they said. I hope they have lots of C&R's.

Callou callay! Garands and carbines-prior to 1946-are now considered C&R's, but I think Brady's law still applies...I didnt buy one today to test what I heard because none of the sellers were sure either. They either entirely didnt know or didnt know the details and didnt want to risk losing their licenses becasue of that.

Saw a scoped G43 that I wanted really badly but didnt bother to check the price, it would only depress me. But I know that my next wild purchase will be an M14 or M1A1 from Springfield Armory.

The last time I was at a show I knew next-to-nothing about mil-surplus/C&R arms.

I've been milsurping for about five years or so now and still fall into that category. Having said that, there's a gunshow in Columbia SC next weekend I may go to? :icon_cheers:

fordruid, i was at the st. louis gunshow yesterday. big guy, long hair, black t-shirt. only person i met up with to know who they were was bob in st. louis from gunboards.
i did pick up some astra 400 mags and destroyer carbine mags from bob, a hakim bayonet, and a 32 izhevsk 91/30 with the sideways sawtooth stock splice. bob said somebody walked out with a 300 dollar svt, too. i didn't see that. i picked up an 1886 dated kropatschek about a dozen times but managed not to buy it.

went to the show because i'm in arkansas now and one of the locals told me "st. louis is just down i55 a little ways." apparently in arkansas, a little ways is 240 miles:BangHead: . still, a bad day at a gunshow beats a good day catching a hangover fishing! y'all have a good day, Keith

Saw Bob there, did you see a short chubby bearded guy with a "Trixies House of Pleasure" cap?
BTW, I got a good deal on a SVT-40 there. (it's a Finn, too)

Well, there just wasn't anything that I 'just had' to have........... Saw an argie that had been really screwed up and I thought about it for awhile but decided that I still have a project m1917 that I need parts for...... really hoped to see a stock for the m1917 but nope............. thought about a Star bm but let it pass..........

Was a fun afternoon, but man what a poor show for mausers........ the argie was the only one that I saw!!! Only 4 enfields, a couple mosin nagants, quite a few m1's but that was about it for mil supp......
