I have acquired a 1932 Mexican Mauser action / reciever (Serial# 21539) with a new Haig Ace barrel (Which I have never heard of) chambered in 257 Roberts. I was wondering if I found a stock to make it a sporter if it would be worth much of anything or not. Any info would be appreciated Thanks

Hi,

could you post some pics as there is to my knowledge no Mexican Mauser 1932 Model. Prior to 1936 Mexico bought them in Europe (Germany, Austria, Czechoslovakia, Belgium, ...) and also produced them (Model 1910) at Fabrica National de Armas, Mexico City a.k.a. Mexico Arsenal . Starting 1936 they built there own Mauser type at Mexico Arsenal.
Your Mauser was rebarreled into a civilian caliber with a good quality barrel (.257 Roberts is a good caliber as a shooter) so from a collector point of view my guess is that with or without sporter stock it won't change anything to the value.

With a good quality stock it just may increase the value some but that would also depend on the quality of all work done to the rifle. Pictures would be better to assess the rifle. Some customs dome a mexican action can run into the $1000s.

Here are a couple of pictures. A little tough to read, it is: FABFICA NATIONAL DE ARMAS MEXICO DE 1932. Let me know if I need to post more pics.

The action is a 'Modelo 1910' name given to Mauser 1902 made in Mexico. 1932 is the year it was produced

Just add a good sporter stock and you should have a nice rifle. I have a 257 made on a G33/40 but I loaned it to my son and haven't seen it for a few years. You will need to get a stock for a small ring 98 and not for a large ring.

Thank you for all the info. I was looking at stocks for a large ring. I will shift my search.
