I have the opportunity to buy a 1892 LC Smith A2 shotgun with automatic ejectors and need to determine the gun's value. It's not been re-done and is in good (original, I believe) condition. It is a 12 gauge and I understand that there were only 186 made. I'm new to gun collecting, but am intrigued by this gun.
Interested in hearing any and all thoughts/comments. Worth buying?

Standard Catalog of Gun Values (2008) states "One of the finest American-made double-barrel shotguns and very collectible in today's market". Value is highly dependent on condition. A-2 Grade estimated $3,750 in Poor condition to $15,000 in Excellent condition in same issue of Standard Catalog. Hope this helps.

Thanks, Don. Appreciate the information. Now to find a reputable gun shop near Los Angeles to have it appraised...
