Man I've never tried? But I don't have two dvd drives in any of my computers? Not sure that I could do it if I wanted to???
Where's that goofy CLG at when ya need him????

If you mean "commerical dvd's" like a movie dvd for example, then I must provide the disclaimer that this is of course against federal law and you shouldn't be doing it unless you want a new boyfriend.
But, to answer your question: In some cases it's nearly impossible. They've gone to a lot of trouble to put copy protection on that stuff.
There was ONE piece of software that could do it, even with the copy protection and the industry sued the crap out of them and I think they went belly-up. I can't remember their name, but you could probably find it with a little "Google" time.
There are several programs, some free, that will copy it to your hard drive. But that of course will fill up a hard drive in pretty short order. Even the software I mentioned above could not fully copy the DVD's. It could copy the movie, but you could not get all the extra features, etc. You had to copy them to a second dvd, if I remember it right.
If you mean copying a DVD that has data on it, that's easy to do. You can use Nero Burning or several other CD/DVD burning software packages.

CLG, I mean taking a Jimi Hendrix DVD and making a copy of it. I have a friend that wants a copy of it at work. Thanks for your time guys. :(
