Here's today's entry. I am leaving town in a few minutes and xpertgreg will be taking over the rest of the day and will be posting the 'mystery' tomorrow.... get extra sleep cause he has a doozie!!

Ok, so now I'm eligible again so I'll guess (can't be sure) that it is a Spanish Mauser model 1916 short rifle originally in 7 mm but many were rechambered to 7.62 NATO.

I'll take a try at this one. My guess is a Spanish Model 1916 Short Rifle, the second pattern with the tangent leaf rear sight.

well guys, Wmroy pm'ed me what he had for this one.....
SPANISH m1916 short rifle....to me that means carbine!

as far as the variations mentioned, I honestly dunno, if Wmroy overrides me when he gets home that's okay!

Absolutely correct! This is actually one of my guns..... I also have a first pattern.................:p
