Hey everyone,
I'm a rifle shooter trying to get into wing shooting and skeet. Can anyone suggest an affordable and effective semi auto shotgun? I'm going to start out w/ a Remington 870 but I have a feeling I'm going to get tired of pump action pretty quick.
Many Thanks.

I don't know what your definition of affordable would be, but last year I picked up a Winchester Super x2 at my local shop for 500. Its my saturday skeet gun and I killed a tom with it last spring, and was my goose gun Cycles everything from light 2 3/.4 to heavy 3 1/2s with no problem AS LONG AS ITS CLEANED. Its easy to take apart and clean, great gun but again thats used price. A new super x3 i've had my eye on runs over a grand.

I cant suggest anything on price because I live in France BUT.
I recently did a straight exchange of a Miroku O/U for a Benelli Montefeltro http://www.guncollectorsforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6540
Never having shot a semi before I am very impressed with this gun. I shoot DTL & Sporting with it and it is exceptionally comfortable. It is also easy to take down and does not suffer from carbon deposits that will affect feed.
I suggest that what ever you buy you make sure that it can take various barrels so you will have a multi tool and that you can also fit various chokes. I would also look for a non-gas model.
Hope this helps you decide :) .
