Stan, My friend, you asked and ye shall receive Sir. A day by day collage of my rifles in their entirety. I'll begin at the beginning, had to say that to quote Monty Python. ;)

Here is my M-39 SAKO / Sestroryetsk rifle. It has undergone some cosmetics done by me but not totally sported by me. I added a Rock Mount bi-pod and a correct straight short bolt handle, it wore the cheap and clunky ATI conversion bolt on it. It had the ATI scope mount which IMHO is worthless and was sold already and I now use the aftermarket iron sights which consist of an OLD Remington rear sight from an M-700 and a Williams Long Ramp and a fine brass Marbles bead. It also has a Winchester M-1894 sight hood too. 20 rounds in the inner bottom rim of a Coke can at 100 yards too, no bull, well ok ya got me, in the bull, but no lies. This photo was taken before I added the straight bolt handle and the bi-pod too.

DISCLAIMER: I never would sporterize a rifle unless it was deemed TOTALLY necessary. NONE of my rifles have been sported by ME. The rifles I show here are as I got them in the sported fashion they were changed to. Now, let me find a good M-1903A4 and then let the fun begin. ;) I'd keep it looking stock, but add glass bedding and free floating and some other "hidden" cosmetics to it.

Please keep watching this SAME thread Gents, I'll put more of my collection in this SAME thread so as to not clutter up the bandwidth.

I have to agree with the above statement. :grinning-thumbsup: After I bought my first C&R (Yugo M48A all original parts), I could never see hacking on one.

Glad you went back to the staight bolt. Those screw on conversions fuction I guess, but just don't look right. :dontknow:

Ash, Thank you for the words here. I wish mine were all still original but this is life. Although, I have ran into some ol' milsurps that do need to be sported to be better off though.

I just enclosed a pair of photos of my Oberndorf Swedish Carbine. The Lyman needs to be lowered, it shoots way too high as it is set now.

Anybody? There's some more to see here. :(

Ash, I forgot to mention this earlier, I did not like the screw on conversion ATI bolt handle for this reason: It required way too much torque to lift the bolt handle after firing. In other words, it was a bear to lift after I fired the first round with the ATI bolt on bolt handle. I'm also glad I got the straight stubby bolt handle when I did, the man that had it said it was his last one left he was willing to part with, and he knew my former job too. ;)

That is a nice looking Swede. There is a 94 Swede floating around the gunshows up here, but I never seem to have the cash. It looks alot like yours.

I have my copy of the actual M-1911A1 .45 ACP here too. My M-1 Carbine photos are too big for the bandwidth. This is my Llama / Colt hybrid that will knock down bowling pins at 50 yards too. Stock sights and 230 gr. S&B FMJ ammo will do the job at 50 yards on the pins, if I do my job too.

I think I'd rather try to find a way to mount a ghost ring {but with a slightly smaller hole} to the rear of the receiver of my Swedish Carbine though.
