I know this is a bit specific but you guys haven't let me down yet. I've been looking for a single action revolver with adjustable sights, non-fluted cylinder, .22lr only, s.s. or nickle with a 5.5" to 7.5" barrel. My reason for non-convertible is I always hear the .22mags are accurate but due to the .23 to .24 barrel the .22lr isn't very good. Before anyone says it... I don't have $2200 for a Freedom Arms. Are there Freedom Arms clones or a discontinued colt or ruger that might fit the bill? Did Abilene, Seville or El Dorado do anything like this in 22lr? Are uberti 10shot stallions decent if I end up compromising?

Just wondering if I'm missing something, compromises are welcome as well...

Any of the Ruger Single Sixes with adjustable sights and the barrel lengths you specified should fit the bill except I don't know if you will find one with an unfluted .22 long rifle cylinder.

I like those but aren't they all convertibles? Nothing I read about 22lr/22mag is flattering while shooting .22lr.

I have a Ruger 22 convertible and it is just as accurate with 22lr as 22wmr. I even had a scope on it for a while using it to hunt squirrels.

Did you use specific ammo? I wonder if the inner bore diameter is the same on all of their .22s?

I just used rem hollow point and it preferred CCIs in 22 mag. I have the 5 1/2" barrel on mine.

The H&R 976 is looking like a winner, who needs ss or nickle.

It's strange that the 976 hasn't been used as "inspiration" by ruger or s&w like everything else.
