Here is another but its not mine. In 1940 the Swiss built 282 Swiss Neuhusssen subachineguns for the Finnish Army only. 40 of these were in 7.65 and 242 were built in 9mm. I was fortunate enough to view two of these guns on my recent trip to Finland. One had a replacement barrel made by the Finnish arsenal VKT. Here are couple of pictures of a handsome devil holding them:

This is a "K31 look-alike" that began life as an 1889 and was converted to a .22 rimfire K11/K31 clone in Switzerland:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/BobS1/Swiss/22RF4.jpg

The rear sight is Anschutz, the front sight is W+F:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/BobS1/Swiss/22RF5.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/BobS1/Swiss/22RFWFFront.jpg

Here is the bolt face:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/BobS1/Swiss/22RFboltface.jpg

Note how far the firing pin protrudes. It also functions as the ejector.

I got this one from Stefan Mahrer (Swissdagger) a few years ago. He keeps coming up with really unique high quality stuff, and his prices (including shipping from CH) are lower than here in the US. I don't know how he does it, but I'm glad he does!

Resp'y,
Bob S.

LoLo25643
09-11-2006, 08:17 PM
Now that's interesting! Was the conversion done with a barrel liner or a completely new one?

Bob S
09-11-2006, 10:50 PM
LoLo:

It does not have a liner, new barrel.

Resp'y,
Bob S.

Here's my latest from a group buy over on the C+R forum. A K11 with matching model 1914 bayonet. I shot the carbine yesterday and the action was slick as butter and shot very good groups. This group buy came from Swissdagger over in Switzerland. He has a lot of great Swiss goodies.

CISM rifle built by Grunig and Elmiger (in CH) circa 1969 using a 1954-production K31 action. Chambered for 7.62 x 51 (.308 Winchester):

Sorry the stock isn't shiney and tiger-striped. Those things don;t make a rifle shoot any better. ;)

I have had this pic up on another (Vetterli) site. I think it's appropriate to post it here for your viewing pleasure! It shows two Vetterlis which are only 74 numbers apart. One is a M1869 and the second an 1869/71. They were built by W. von Steiger at Thun in 1871.

Picked this one up a couple months ago from a local guy, says he got it in a trade and has had it for years.

1881 Stutzer with matching bayonet, bore is pretty bad, cleaned up a bit nut will never be nice. From what I can tell the original (state side) owner shot it often and never cleaned it. Couldn't pass it up since it had the matching bayo.

Looked like this when I brought her home.

Okay I give up - what exactly is it? Perhaps the dumbest question posted today but I had to ask.

It's a 1911 of some type? Astra markings - made in Switzerland. Clue me in.

It`s the first 1911 clone made in Switzerland.
The whole Story about the new ASTRA ARMS can find on the net, google it.
Unfortunatelly their website is still under construction.
Since three months they made now guns, the most parts are made in Switzerland (CNC machined).
Found pictures of the new ASTRA pistols on another forum two weeks ago.
I contacted the company and ordered one .Few days later I picked up my new toy .
I was really surprised about the quality of it, I can`t see any casted parts, the magazines are from Italy.

We have now again three "gunmakers" in Switzerland, SPHINX , A.S.A.I. and now ASTRA ARMS .

How do you like that 1911. Is it a good shooting pistol.
