Looks like a Model 1908 Mondragon. Think Mexico took delivery of some in 7x57, and later Germany adopted some and changed from 8 round magazine to 30 round drum magazine and called it Model 1915. Rifle was made by SIG, but originated in France.

OK, I just looked it up...looks like Rustybore nailed it pretty good.

Hard to believe that Mexico was the 1st Country to adopt a semi auto for general issue. We may be lucky that they did not receive more than 400 being that we (the US) were fighting them just prior to WWI...I think it was 1916?

Anyway, good job rustybore.

GERMAN Model 1908 Mondragon semiautomatic rifle # 2041 (7x57), mfg. at S.I.G. (Neuhausen) in 1908 (adopted by the Germans during World War I as the "Self-Loading Aircraft Carbine 15").

Very Good Rustybore!!
