View Full Version : T30 Prototype Carbine

This is the T30 carbine I got from Argie. This an early proto-type carbine as it has no wrist tangs nor does it have a bayonet lug on the front band. T30's went into production in 1898 and this one was made sometime before that. It does not have a serial number but does have an arsenal stamp. It has "10" stamped on the right side of the butt stock. I have a friend in Florida that has one like it with "9" stamped or burned into the wood on the right side. It has 6.5 mm stamped on top of the chamber and I'm told that it indicates that at some time this rifle resided in Europe.
