Just added two more neat pistols to the German collection. Both from the same local individual.
DWM, 1910, serial 8516b, pre WWI, Army issue. The 1910 P.08 was the first Luger to bear a factory applied date. Approximately 20,000 were procured, so not a scarce Luger. But, the condition is not to bad for a 96 year old pistol that saw use during WWI and possibly later. It is also a quite desirable addition to a collection, as it also bears the markings of the unit it was ultimately issued to, 11.R.M.G.49. This is the 11th Reserve Infantry Regiment, Machinegun Company, weapon 49.
The 11th Reserve Infantry Regiment was part of the 11th Reserve Division and the 117th Infantry Division during WWI. It battled in Lorraine-Meuse in 1914, in Artos, Lens, Flanders and the Somme during 1915 and 1916; Bukovine, the Carpathian Mountains, Rumania and Italy during 1917; and Lorraine, Lys, Somme, Argone and the Meuse during 1918.

The second pistol is a nice little Mauser 1914 Model, Standard Postwar Commercial, 7.65m/m, serial 294545. Nothing ususual or scarce, just needed to have an example for the pocket pistol collection. The opportunity was there, so why not.
