Looks like a Berdan Model 1870. Used by the Russians. Happy Easter.

RUSSIAN Model 1870 Berdan II bolt-action single-shot rifle (10.6x57.5R) mfg. by Sestroryetsk Arsenal in 1884 with Czarist eagle atop barrel-shank. Very cool volley-sight arrangement, with front volley-sight on right side of front barrel-band and rear volley-sight simply being an extension of the rear sight-leaf on the right.
Very Good there Rusty!!!:grinning-thumbsup: :headbanger:

The Easter Bunny told me that Colt built the first rifles for Russia, then BSA of England supplied another 30,000 and then the tooling for Russia to build their own version. Besides Sestroryetsk, Tula and Ishevsk also built them for a grand total of about 3,500,000. Wonder why we don't see a bunch of these on the market?

That's a good question? I've never seen one! It looks like a interesting old gun....
