#6!?!?!?!?
i had an improved model 6 when i was a kid, theres a fare deal different between it and this. the local shop has a 32rimfire thats almost identicle to this rifle in the pic, i think its a stevens. its amazing how these old bang sticks can be so much alike yet not!
stan! falling block is like a ruger number one, stevens favorate, or win 1885. lever that you pull down, block retracts downward, exposing its breach. this is a rolling block in that once the trigger is at half cock you can rotate the breach block reward. it "rolls" out away from the breach. if your not sure just look for the lever, if its on the breach block chances are its a roller, if on the triggerguard chances its a falling block!

sac,Actually the Stevens I thought this was is almost it's twin.I am pretty familiar with the actions of these old .22's.If you will go to www.joesalter.com and do a search for "Stevens" you will see what I mean by the similarity.

My gun trader's guide has it listed that way, but there was no picture so i just took my most educated guess. I had the remington part though. Something about it just said Remington to me. I left the takedown part on there cause they had it listed that way and because of the screw in the bottom from your pic.
That's two for me, you guys at the top better watch out! here I come!!!!

Interesting little gun. Even case hardened on the receiver. Through the years I have overlooked the .22's, mainly because when I grew up they were cheapies and held no interest for me, they weren't Mausers.lol I'm suprised to see the value of some of these "cheapies". I have my father's old .22, a Savage of some sort, that is completely shot out and neglected. I'll have to find it and research what it is.
