I picked up the best MkI yesterday at the Puyallup gun show. It had a like new barrel and was all matching with great walnut. I also got a Lithgow in the same shape.

when is the next show? i have to visit seattle to pick up some things i left in storage, maybe i can time it for the next show. y'all have a good day, Keith

Nice rifle, and I might add that the cat looks like my two cats, Rosco and Elmo, brothers from the same litter. They do tend to be curious.

Here is an arsenal refurbished 1916 Lithgow that I bought from a co-worker last month. I haven't had a chance yet to take this one out to the range.

Nice, I love the early Lithgows, got 5 or 6 of them. I've got a 1915 and a 1917, so you are surrounded. The #1 Mk 3 is about my favorite rifle to shoot also.

Number 4 Enfields are considered an improvement on the design, but I still like taking my old SMLEs to the range more than the #4 rifles. Got 2 Savage #4s but have to confess I don't think I've taken either to the range for their workout. I might have shot the one I've had for 3 or 4 years but I can't say for certain.

.303 Brit is fast becoming one of those calibers that you need to reload for. Commercial ammo is still around, several makers, but the surplus has about dried up. Only POF .303 seems to be available in my area when it comes to surplus ammo.

The No. 4 improvement was one over the British MkI but not the Lithgow Mk I Enfield. The Assuies never did change over because the Lithgow was much better or sometimes just equal to the No.4 in accuracy. The barrel on the Lithgows were fatter, of higher quality and yielded better accuracy.

I use the South African and Greek .303 ammo which is very good stuff.

The scarcity of good .303 is what got me into reloading. After doing so for a little over a year I really like the accuracy of my loads which I can tailor to each individual rifle.
I have a No.4 which performs best with 150 grain bullets and my No.1 and GSA sporter do best with 180 grain RNFB which is also my hunting load.
I'm not going for "MAX LOADS" as a lot of handloaders do but more for accuracy and mild recoil.I found out this year that a mild 180 gr bullet load will drop a deer in it's tracks.
Reloading is a hobby within a hobby and there is a lot of satisfaction in working up a good load for an individual rifle.
The little 123 gr. .310 bullet which is a normal bullet for AK's and SKS's can really be a surprisingly nice load in the .303.
