I built up a sporter Mosin from a 91/59 for deer hunting.I took a really good bore rifle and put it in an ATI synthetic stock and mounted a Makarov.com scout scope with a 1.5X2.5 Tasco LER scope. It shot really well.
The trigger pull was still the military 2 stage and kind of detrimental to really accurate shooting.I read an article on the Huber adjustable trigger on the Surplus rifle.com website and decided to try this trigger. At about $70 it cost almost as much as the rifle but after installing it and getting the pull adjusted to about 3-4 pounds the accuracy of the rifle increased dramatically. My groups at 100 yards shrunk from about 3" to about 1-1/2".
Installation was really simple. It is a drop in.The resulting trigger pull is as smooth as a commercial rifle. If you plan to invest some time and money into a sporter project this is one of the best things you can do to achieve a good result.I firmly recommend it.

I have heard great things about these triggers. It's nice to hear firsthand about the outcome of one. A little pricey, but one might justified on your best pre-Huber shooter.

Thanks Stan. :grinning-thumbsup:

Im not gonna do that until I get another 91/30. I would like to keep one as original as possible while I bubbify the other.

I did it to my m44 (synthetic stock, scout mount, muzzel break) and only the new stock came out to be a good buy.
