My father passed away and I found a shot gun he had , to the best of my knowledge, 35-40 years. This is what I know about the shotgun from the barrell and I am trying to find out what it is worth or where to go to find this information out

The barrell says

ITHACA GUN COMPANY
model 37
16 Gauge 2 3/4 in chamber
proof tested ICYL
On the sides of the chamber there is a silver plate and it depicts birds in flight over a marshy area.

It needs some cleaning up and hasn;t been used for a while but I am trying to see what it is worth

Thank you in advance for ANY assistance you can provide

Welcome to the forum.

The value of the shotgun depends upon its mechanical and cosmetic conditions. A good place to start looking for a current value of guns like yours is on the auction web sites such as Gun Broker or Auction Arms.
