I have wanted one of these for a long time and got it about 2 months ago.
Got the crossdraw holster and belt made custom locally for $85.

That's a really nice sixshooter that will last for several generations. The Rugers are tough as whip leather and my favorite sixgun. You'll enjoy this one I'm sure.:)

That is a very nice looking rig!!

One of these days I'm gonna get me a six shooter..... never really lost the attraction that I built up as a kid watching the old westerns.....:xxrotflmao:

that's why I wanted it, too. But let me tell you..."Fanning" don't come out like it does in the movies!

What's your opinion of the Uberti's? A guy I know that's bit into the cowboy stuff told me once that they weren't necessarily the best gun in terms of functionality (solid, just not the absolute best), but that their attention to detail on their reproductions was superb (in terms of the look and feel of the firearm).

He said if you couldn't afford the real thing, to get a Uberti if realism to the original is what you wanted.

BTW.....I've heard great things about the Ruger Vaquero too, but I think it had more to do with what an excellent firearm it was. Strong, reliable, accurate.

When I went to Wyo to visit my kids my ex and her husband were members of a fast draw club and they used Rugers only they reworked the hammer and made it longer so that they could fan it. Nice gun and rig you got there. I'm sorta partial to rugers myself as I only own four of them. :grinning-thumbsup:

Congrats on the Vaquero.

I bought mine, a bird's head 3&3/4" barreled version in 45 LC last year and am waiting on a custom slipper cross draw to arrive any day now. I love the pistol and know you will love your's too.

BTW, learn thumbing instead of fanning. Thumbing is not hard on the action like fanning is and is much more controllable.:grinning-thumbsup:

Nice rig...Rugers are well made revolvers.

I recently picked up one of those Taurus Gauchos in 45 Colt. It is very close to a Colt SAA IMO. Has the 4 clicks when you cock it. Open gate and half cock it to rotate cylinder. Action is very sweet and consistant. Shoots very well. I am very impressed with it. For $280 plus tax, it is hard to beat.

BTW, this is the very first Taurus that I have ever owned. I've always been a S&W kinda guy, so I always kinda poo-poo'd the Taurus. I am a Ruger SA guy (Still have a single six). I had a Vaquero in 45 colt when they first came out with them. I like this Taurus..it is a well made handgun. It is slimmer feeling than the older Vaqueros (feels more like the SAA). The New Vaqueros have addressed that issue as well, and now feel more comfortable to me.

So if you are considering a SA 45 colt, and the Colt SAA is too pricey for ya, you may want to check out the Taurus and compare it. you may like it as well.
