Beyond hysterically funny (5 stars on that one Lee)!
Back in late '86 or early '87 I was in college and joined the USAF Reserves at Eglin AFB (FL). I was an Electronic Warfare Technician on the AC-130's (Puff the Magic Dragon). Anyway, I had to go to Keesler AFB (MS) {Biloxi} for about a year of schooling.
As one may imagine, at one time I was quite the prankster. Let me set the story up. The school ran pretty much 24/7 in 6 hour shifts. You went to school for 6 hours and the rest of the day was yours (well, for me it was anyway because I had already done a tour of duty in the Army plus I was a SGT). The 'pingers' {poor babies} of course had to march to chow, march to the bathroom, etc,. Speaking of the 'pingers' I used to go out of my way to wave at them while I was driving to school in my own car {while they were marching}. Anyway, it was possible to go to school from 6AM to NOON, or NOON to 6PM, 6PM to midnight, or midnight to 6AM.
I was a 23 year old SGT (E4), and a dorm chief (meaning I decided who was cleaning the bathrooms up and stuff like that). My roomate was also prior enlisted (he was a jarhead) but he was only an E3. I was wild, full of life, on fire 24/7, crazy as could be, not married/very single, & enjoying everything I could. As fate would have it I met some pretty savory characters in my tenure while a Reservist in Mississippi. We would throw many a party in my dorm, or in my room. What could they say or do? If someone would complain or call the SP's they would come see me {the dorm chief, remember ?} and I would assure them that the "situation" was under control.
Anyone, one particular night my pal John {his real name} had a little bit too much to drink somewhere that night. Now John was a great guy but somewhat of a dork, especially when it came to women. He was a SSGT (E5), about 30 years old, living in the dorms, and probably a die hard virgin. But he was one of us in the "DOG-pack" and a good guy. This particular night he had a little too much to drink and was smitten with a woman who lived upstairs. John was in love with this woman. He would go wake her up everyday, bring her coffee, walk with her to school, carry her briefcase, etc,. Like I said John was drinking that night and was acting a little wierd. As the night wore on we still continued to party, raise hell, and act like...well, like drunk people do in the military?
We were winding down the party in my room when John passed out. It was probably about 1AM on a Saturday morning {John was still in his blue's}. We woke John up and told him he was late for work. He left my room, literally running for work.
Ten minutes later the SP's had them in their custody and my phone was ringing. They wanted to know if I knew why SSGT John was running around base with pantyhose on, painted toe nails, and wearing a bra under his blues? I just played dumb, but because I was the dorm chief I told them they could bring him by and I would make sure that he stayed put!
We all got in a little trouble for that one. Most of us were Reservists and really did not give a...darn! I only wish that I had pictures to post of this event {of course I would blacken out the eyes like in the old movies to protect the innocent}.
